The self-assembled fluorescent organic nanoparticle of tetraethyl-anthracene-9,10-diyl-9,10-bis(phosphonate) has been synthesized, and explored as a fluorescent marker and selective anti-leukemic inducer of apoptosis with solvatochromic property, suggesting its huge potential in diagnostics and cancer therapy.
