The -[La(hfac)3-boaDTDA]n- coordination polymer exhibits ferromagnetic (FM) coupling between the radicals, mediated through the diamagnetic LaIII ion. The lanthanum 6s orbital cannot be solely responsible for the superexchange mechanism.
