From dense monomer salt crystals to CO2 selective microporous polyimides via solid-state polymerization

Solid-state polymerization of crystalline monomer salts yielding CO2 selective polyimides was performed. Identical polyimide copies of the salt crystallite habits are obtained. The polycondensation leads to a porosity well suited for CO2: sorption measurements and IAST calculations show that the polyimides depict a considerable CO2 over N2 selectivity.
