A surfactant-assisted redox hydrothermal route to prepare highly photoluminescent carbon quantum dots with aggregation-induced emission enhancement properties

We successfully prepared highly photoluminescent carbon quantum dots (CQDs) from C60 under hydrothermal conditions. The CQDs have quantum yields as high as 80.8% and displayed a nanoparticle aggregation-induced emission enhancement (NP-AIEE).
